In Indonesia, especially on Bali, one of the best systems for sea salt extraction and purification by hand has been developed over many generations. The resulting salt products have one of the highest sodium contents in the world. This is made possible thanks to the natural filtration of the salt through the black sand of the coast. This sand originates from volcanic eruptions that have repeatedly occurred in the immediate vicinity of salt production. The above factors contribute to obtaining a very valuable natural product, whose production takes into account the protection of the surrounding nature and the criteria of sustainability in a very practical way. In addition, this creates valuable jobs in Bali, which the island urgently needs.
